Harley needs to have his rear leg amputated. He was hit by a car a few years ago and the extensive work that was done to his leg has potentially caused damage that is beyond repair. Update 11/2/11

Buster has a cancerous tumor is his nasal passage. The oncologist has recommended immediate radiation treatment, which Buster's mom cannot afford at this time. Buster needs this treatment to survive. Please reach out to help this young, loving kid today.

Update 9/15/11

Paws was rescued by a neighbor who found he had a broken back leg. The owners were not interested in helping Paws, so she took him into her home and is now trying to raise funds to help cover the cost of the expensive surgery. Paws ne mom has been holding fundraiser's in an attempt to raise money, but she is still short of the needed funds. Labrador harbor is helping from our general funds, but it is not enough to get Paws the help he needs. Please reach out to help get this sweet boy back on track!

Gino has tumor on his hind leg that is currently exposed and bleeding. His family is struggling to come up with funds needed to cover the surgery to remove the mass. Update 9/15/11

In April, Belle injured her leg badly. Her mom kept her rested and she seemed to heal fine. She was doing fine in June. However, while Belle was out playing, her leg gave out on her and she was in a great deal of pain. The vet said that Belle needed TPLO surgery estimated at around $4,000. Her mom simply did not have the funds for the surgery so Belle was put on pain meds and anti-iflammatory meds to help her on a daily basis. Through research, her mom found a vet that could perform a "tightrope" surgery to fix Belle's leg at a reduced cost.

Belle had the surgery and is recovering nicely at home, but her mom still needs help covering the vet bill. Labrador Harbor is assisting with some money out of our general funds, but Belle's mom is still short of the total bill! Please reach out and donate to help Belle today.

Update 9/15/11

Mickey had a nerve sheath tumor which was removed in July. The vet has recommended following up with 4-5 radiation therapy treatments to help keep Mickey cancer free. The radiation treatments are costly and his Mom needs our help to get Mickey through this tough time. Labrador Harbor has helped with a grant from Bear's Hope Fund. Update 8/27/11

Casey has diabetes which is being managed by his mom, who is struggling financially but doing the best she can to take care of Casey. Casey now has cataracts on both eyes that are causing her pain and seriously effecting her vision. She will need surgery to remove both or one of the cataracts (depending on test results from the vet.) Please reach out to help Casey and her mom today.

Update 8/21/11

Jordan was recently diagnosed with an insulinoma, a very rare malignant tumor in the pancreas. Surgery was performed at VSH and the surgeon believe he was able to remove nearly all of the cancer. Jordan's family is doing all they can to keep helping Jordan as she needs it, but they are nearing the end of their financial resources. Katie is suffering from a large bladder stone and an infection. Just days after Sadie's family adopted her from the shelter she contracted a life-threatening case of a micro-plasm influenza virus. Her family rushed her to the hospital where she stayed for treatment for several days. While the family was diligent in planning out a budget for normal costs of puppy care, they did not plan on an immense vet bill within days of adoption. While running with his mom, Ace jumped from a bridge over a stream, a 12 foot drop. This caused severe damage to his front legs which require surgery to correct. Daisy has severe cruciate disease in her left hind knee due to an past torn ACL injury. She has been compensating for the pain by using her right hind leg. Bella has a disc bulge in her back, near her neck, and the disc is pushing down into her spine. Bella's family will need to see a specialist who is recommending and MRT and CT scans to determine the exact cause of the bulge. Phipps has a torn cranial cruciate ligament in his left rear knee. He is in need of an expensive TTA surgery. Update 4/5/11

In January, Austin was hit by a car. His hip was broken and his right hind leg was pushed into his hip joint. He received surgery to correct the hip and realign his hind leg. At the time of surgery the vet discovered that both of Austin's ACL's were torn. Austin's family has tapped their resources covering the over $12,000 in surgeries so far and they are in need of an additional $2800 for the ACL surgery. The surgeon has offered to donate his surgical time at no cost to help this family, but that still doesn't not cover the medications and parts needed for the surgery.
